Steady: Privacy policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
Steady doesn't collect any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device. There's no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the app works without an internet connection.
Who we are
Steady is published by Lightkeeper Studio.
Questions about this policy: hello@lightkeeperstudio.co.uk
What's kept on your device
- What you choose to track, your goals and dates, and if you add them, what each thing used to cost and something to save towards
- Uses, urges and check-ins you log, with any notes, amounts, costs, triggers, mood and cravings
- Routines, Step work, notes, worksheets, reviews and gratitude lists
- Names and phone numbers of people you add, appointments you add, and your settings
- If you set a PIN, a scrambled (hashed) version of it, never the PIN itself
- If you enter a licence key, the key and the day you entered it. It's checked on your device, never sent anywhere
- Safety copies of your records, made when Steady repairs or restores them, so nothing is lost by mistake. Delete everything removes these too
This is health information, so it stays in Steady's own storage on your device. Lightkeeper Studio never receives it and can't see it.
What leaves your device
Nothing, unless you choose to send it:
- Backups. A backup is a file you save or share yourself, for example to your files, a cloud drive or email. Wherever you put it, that service's own privacy policy applies. An ordinary backup isn't encrypted, so keep it somewhere private. A backup locked with a password is encrypted on your device before it's saved, and can only be opened with that password, which isn't kept anywhere.
- Progress summaries. If you print or save a summary, it goes wherever you send it. It only holds what you chose to put on it.
- Milestone cards. If you save or share a card, it goes wherever you send it. It only shows what you can see on it.
- Calendar files. If you add a reminder or an appointment to your own calendar, it goes wherever that calendar keeps things. It only says "Morning routine", "Evening routine" or "Appointment".
- Calls, texts and links. Tapping a helpline, a contact or a website opens your phone, messages or browser. Steady doesn't see or keep what happens there.
- Your device's own backups. On Android, Steady is left out of the phone's own backups and phone-to-phone transfers. A computer may include Steady's data in its own backups, depending on its settings.
Reminders
Reminders are set on your device itself. Routine reminders only say "Morning routine" or "Evening routine", and appointment reminders only say "Appointment".
Contacts
Steady doesn't read your address book. It only knows the names and numbers you type in.
Third parties
Steady contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code, and shares no data with anyone. The technical components it's built with run on your device and don't send data anywhere.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Settings, then Delete everything. Uninstalling the app also deletes it. Because Lightkeeper Studio never holds your data, there's nothing else to delete, and no request to make.
Age
Steady is for adults aged 18 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app and on this page, with a new date.
