Steady: Terms of use
Last updated 21 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Lightkeeper Studio, who make Steady. They're written to be easy to read, and they don't affect your legal rights as a consumer.
Using Steady
- You can use Steady on your own phones and computers, for yourself.
- Steady is for adults aged 18 and over.
- Please don't copy, sell or share the app itself, or try to get round its licence checks.
Steady Plus
- A Steady Plus licence key is for one person, on their own devices. Please don't share it publicly.
- If you bought Steady Plus and it doesn't work as described, contact us. We'll fix it, or give you your money back. If you bought it through an app store, the store's own refund rules apply as well.
Licences for organisations
- An organisation's licence lets it give its key to the people it supports, for as long as the licence lasts.
- Anyone who has entered the key keeps everything after the licence ends, on that device, and on a new one restored from their backup. If they delete everything, they'll need a new key, unless they restore a backup that has it.
- The organisation's own agreement with us covers everything else.
Your records
- Your records stay on your device. We never receive them, so we can't see them, get them back or delete them for you.
- Keep a backup. Deleting the app, or clearing its data, deletes your records.
Not medical advice
- Steady is a self-help tool for tracking and reflection. It isn't treatment or medical advice, and it isn't a medical device.
- In an emergency, call 999 (or your local emergency number). Don't wait for an app.
Our responsibility to you
- We work hard to make Steady reliable, but we can't promise it will always work without problems.
- We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not taking reasonable care. We're not responsible for loss or damage that wasn't foreseeable.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where it would be against the law to do so, for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
- Steady is for personal use, so we're not responsible for business losses.
Changes
- We may update Steady and these terms. If the terms change in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app.
- You can stop using Steady at any time, and delete everything in it from Settings.
The law
These terms are under the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own country's courts.
